The author puts forth a vast and diverse cast of characters, unveiling what lies under the apparent work system of a library. Smith's investment in creation of characters and their development is sheer dedication. He brings characters to life through detailed descriptions. . Due to large cast and subplots, the book may seem hard to grip but after few chapters, the reader gets fully invested in the story. Realistic dialogues and portrayal of NYC makes it an evocative read. . Smith keeps the readers at edge by putting the element of suspense and by exposing readers to various situations. After reading this creation, it is certain that you will always look at the librarians in a different way. And Oh! it'll leave you hooked and desperate for next installment. .
